Please refrain from asking stupid questions

Alright.  There are people in my class who love to ask stupid questions.  LOVE TO.  A couple terms ago a friend and I would pretend to shoot these people as soon as they raised their hand because everyone knew it was going to be a stupid question.  I’m talking the whole class would groan when these particular individuals raised their hand.

Ok so today, today there was a GLORIOUS question.  Absolutely amazing.  This individual raises their hand, the prof acknowledges them, and then they ask their question:

Isn’t it supposed to be -5.625?“

Anyone would look at that question, and wouldn’t think it was too bad.  But it was what that person was referring to which makes it a GLORIOUS question.  The prof had calculated a value and wrote it on the board.  This person had calculated it themself, and got a different answer.  The prof had written down -5.645.

NEGATIVE FIVE POINT FOUR SIX FIVE!!!!  And this person wanted it CORRECTED!  Because it was 2 hundredths of decimal place OFF!!!!

I can’t even begin to describe how crazy that question made me.  If I don’t stop thinking about it I will pull all of my hair out.
